Another year and another hugely successful Champion Breakfast is over and done. Thanks to you, our Champions, we were able to raise almost $40,000 with an additional $5,000 raised by our raffle. We are truly humbled by your generosity and ardent support.

The theme of this year’s Breakfast was, “What Can We Do Together,” and we had many members of our Safe Streets community step up to the stage and help answer that question. Our MC Alex is currently a student at Pacific Lutheran University who remembers how Safe Streets played an influential role in creating a better environment for him to learn and grow. Our two speakers, Lynda and Jenny, are the neighborhood leaders of our Fern Hill and Spring Hill Neighborhood Groups who spoke about how Safe Streets empowered them to take control of their neighborhoods. The inherent point everyone made in their stories was how the mission of Safe Streets – to make every neighborhood in Pierce County safe – can only be accomplished when we work together as neighbors and friends.

The video below highlights how everyday people can work together to become the driving force of change in their community. If you take a stand and pledge to take charge and make change in your neighborhood, no matter how small, then you are a Safe Streets Champion.
