Jobs 253 is an initiative through Tacoma Public Schools designed to provide meaningful work opportunities for youth in our community. This summer at Safe Streets, we are offering four unique roles, each with its own set of responsibilities and learning opportunities. From mural painting to community engagement, these roles are designed to provide hands-on experience and develop essential life skills.

Job Opportunities

  1. Mural Project Intern – A hands-on role that involves planning and painting a community mural. This role is perfect for those who love art and aren’t afraid to get a little messy!
  2. Youth Program Intern @ Salishan – In this role, you’ll assist with planning and delivering weekly program sessions for young people. A great opportunity for those who enjoy working with kids of all ages.
  3. Together Tacoma Intern – This role involves planning and conducting interviews with community members, recording and editing interviews, and promoting the interviews. Ideal for creative individuals who enjoy storytelling.
  4. Community Engagement Intern – This role involves coordinating events, creating and sharing Public Service Announcements, and community outreach activities. Perfect for those who love social media and engaging with the community.
