One of the great things about working at Safe Streets is that we get to meet people with incredibly unique backgrounds and experiences. We recently welcomed two fantastic interns from Pacific Lutheran University to our Marketing team. Haley and Kaitlyn will be with us through the summer and we are excited to have their help. Stop by and say hi sometime!

Kaitlyn Hall

Kaitlyn joined Safe Streets this June as a communication intern, after working with the team in the spring through a Pacific Lutheran University advertising class. Kaitlyn is double-majoring in Hispanic studies and communication with an emphasis in public relations and advertising at PLU and will graduate in 2017.  An internship at Safe Streets was a perfect fit for this Tacoma native, who volunteers locally and works at King’s Books. After graduation, Kaitlyn hopes to begin working as a copy editor in the magazine or book publishing industry, as she wants to ensure writers’ voices are best conveyed to their readers through fluid, well-edited writing.

Haley Ehlers

This fall, Haley Ehlers will be starting her senior year at Pacific Lutheran University, where she studies marketing, business administration, and nonprofit leadership. Originally from Salem, OR, Haley has enjoyed getting to know the Tacoma area, and looks forward to continuing this exploration with Safe Streets this summer as a Communications Intern. Haley is passionate about sustainable community development, gender equity, and equal access. After graduation, she is considering a volunteer position with the Peace Corp and law school.
