NNO is more than just an event — it’s a nationwide initiative designed to foster neighborhood spirit, enhance police-community partnerships, and strengthen cross-generational connections.
What Does NNO Look Like?
Every NNO event is unique, reflecting the diverse communities that participate. Some celebrations are potlucks on the sidewalk, others are resource fairs and barbecues at a central community site. You & your neighbors decide!
What You Can Expect
- Meet New People! : NNO events are all about community. Expect to meet your neighbors, local police officers, and community leaders. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the people who make your community what it is. Safe Streets can help coordinate police and fire visits to your NNO party.
- Fun For the Whole Family: NNO is for everyone, and that includes kids. Many events feature family-friendly activities, making it a great outing for the whole family. Safe Streets has lots of resources, including activity ideas, that will make planning easy and fun.
- Community Resources: NNO is also a chance to learn about the resources available in your community. From local nonprofits to government services, it’s a great way to find out what’s available to you.
